Chair with Pillow 20 x 16

Another chair portrait. I needle pointed this cat pillow years ago - I don't own the zebra rug, but thought that would be a fun addition. In the upper corners are (l) my Sue Ann Shoes painting. An old shoe store in Wilmington, NC. The other is a fanciful abstract.
Chair Portraits: this wasn't a totally original idea, but I've made it my own. I have one more in the draft stage and am always on the look out for new candidates. Anyone have an unusual chair that needs to be memorialized?

Black Chair in a Green Room 14 x 11

SOLD Last summer I started a series of "chair portraits." Finished this one today. My brother claimed it before it was finished. I'm proud to say that it will hang in Manhattan (New York not Kansas).

Let the Cat out of the Bag 18 x 18

Finished! This reminds me of my dear departed Scout - the prettiest black/white cat ever!

Cookbook Cover

I was pleased that one of my paintings was selected for the cover of our church's cookbook. The shrimp trawlers are iconic Swansboro -

Red Peppers 14 x 11

The inspiration for this was the combo of the beautiful graphics on a large can of roasted red peppers and this silly little chef cheese shaker that I bought at a yard sale. I like it!

Still Life with Plums 22 x 28

Giving myself a pat on the back here - I think I did a good job in capturing the transparency of the glass globes.

Cupcake 14 x 11

A friend issued a challenge - my daughter loves cupcakes - paint something for her birthday. OK, the gauntlet was thrown down - and in the next days I will post the results - this is the first of the series.

Silent Auction - Sword and the Spirit Christian Fellowship

Happy to support this fund raiser for a worthy cause - we lived in this New York State town for several years while our kids were growning up and made life-long friends. Silent Auction is April 17th.

Abandoned 16 x 20

This lonely building is located in Trenton NC - we pass it every time we head north. The building has great "bones" - it may have been the local bank, it's one of the most substantial buildings in this little town.

Park Florist

A Buffalo institution, Park Florist has been in business as long as I can remember. It used to be the "place" to order prom flowers, Easter plants, etc. It's still in it's original location - across from Bennett High School on Main Street.

Bue Donut No. 2 18 x 18 $$250 (unframed)

My first version of Blue Donut met with such acclaim, and resulted in a quick sale, that I've given it a second shot. Email me if you are interested.

The Nineteen Dollar Cake

Bakery counters always have good subject matter, even if you can't afford to take it home. What kind of cake costs $19?

Steamed Lobsters 18 x 18 $175

Every summer, a local church has a lobster festival. Live lobsters zoome along I-95 from Maine to NC, and the church's men's club steams them. It's a great deal and a greater treat. Here are ours before we got out the crackers and melted butter.

Church with Wedding Cake Steeple

It's been so long since I had time to paint - started this one in the fall. I think the church is in the Catskill region of NYS. I took the photo about 15 years ago.
