The inspiration for this was the combo of the beautiful graphics on a large can of roasted red peppers and this silly little chef cheese shaker that I bought at a yard sale. I like it!
A friend issued a challenge - my daughter loves cupcakes - paint something for her birthday. OK, the gauntlet was thrown down - and in the next days I will post the results - this is the first of the series.
A friend has asked me to do a cupcake painting for her daughter. This is pencil/wash sketch. I plan to do more, they are fun, to get the perfect cupcake/composition/color combo.
Happy to support this fund raiser for a worthy cause - we lived in this New York State town for several years while our kids were growning up and made life-long friends. Silent Auction is April 17th.
This lonely building is located in Trenton NC - we pass it every time we head north. The building has great "bones" - it may have been the local bank, it's one of the most substantial buildings in this little town.
A Buffalo institution, Park Florist has been in business as long as I can remember. It used to be the "place" to order prom flowers, Easter plants, etc. It's still in it's original location - across from Bennett High School on Main Street.
Every summer, a local church has a lobster festival. Live lobsters zoome along I-95 from Maine to NC, and the church's men's club steams them. It's a great deal and a greater treat. Here are ours before we got out the crackers and melted butter.
It's been so long since I had time to paint - started this one in the fall. I think the church is in the Catskill region of NYS. I took the photo about 15 years ago.
